Terms & Conditions

At Natural Therapeutics, we work hard to ensure that you have all the information you need before booking onto a course, whether this is one of our online course, a blended course (theory online supported by in-class practicals) or our courses that require full attendance. However, we appreciate that circumstances may change and so we have laid our below our terms and conditions, which you will agree to when booking onto your course.

Natural Therapeutics reserves the right to amend its courses from time to time as we will strive to ensure all information is as accurate and up-to-date as possible. We also reserve the right to amend the course fees at any given time.

How to book onto a course

Please complete the enrolment form for the course you wish to undertake. You can of course call, email or text us any questions you have in advance. No payment is taken at enrolment (except for introductory courses (see below for terms and conditions for those), and instead we will send you an invoice with BACS payment details.

In-class courses

As stated above, we will send an invoice for your place on a course that involves attendance. You can pay the tutor directly via BACs and you will have seven days to make your payment. If payment is not received in that time, we will offer your place to another student. As all of our practical classes are paid in instalments per workshop, you will be asked to pay for your next practical seven days in advance once you are on a course.

For the level 5 diploma in Aromatherapy & Essential Oil Science and Massage Therapy Diploma, you are required to secure your place by payment of a deposit. This is non-refundable after the 14 days statutory cooling-off period. The deposit is to be paid at least 2 weeks prior to commencement of the course. You will need to pay for your next session at least seven days prior to the date of the first day of that weekend session. Access to the online course materials to support your learning will be released on the day after each weekend session (on the following Monday) and will not be available to you if you have cancelled or failed to arrive for the class.

Cancelling your booking on an in-class course

We understand that circumstances may change and you may need to cancel your course dates and in that case, we will do our best to offer you alternative dates, when that course is running again. In accordance with the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2014, you are entitled to a 14 day cooling off period from the day of booking - which is when you send in your enrolment form to us. If you choose to cancel within this time, please let us know in writing (via email will suffice) and we will issue a full refund within this 14 day period. However, please note that if your course is due to start within that 14 day period after booking, and you choose to cancel then a refund can only be given if the place can be filled by another student, but we will still offer you a place on the next available date that the course runs again.

Withdrawing from a course that has already started

If you withdraw from a course that you have already started, we can offer no refunds as payment is all via module or via practical workshop, so you are only paying for the next module/practical workshop as you go. We will of course offer you the option of re-joining the course at the point that you needed to halt the next time we run that particular course, where possible. Your Consumer Rights are protected.

On-line courses

Once you have paid for your online course, we will set you up with a log-in and password for you to access either the whole course (if it is an introductory course) or the first module (if it is a diploma that we deliver module by module). Once you have logged in and accessed the academic content, there can be no refunds offered. Exceptions to the 14-day cancellation rights under the Consumer Contract Regulations are that there can be no refunds once digital downloads have started. Once you have actively logged in and accessed the Course Materials, you now have the course at this point and can save the content onto your own computer. This is why, beforehand, we take the time to ensure you are happy with the course and that it is right for you before inviting you to enrol. We are happy to discuss any course in advance and discuss your objectives to doing any of our courses so that we can give you all the correct information before you start. A legally binding contract comes into existence one we have provided you with your login details (for the online and blending learning courses). For the in-class courses, a legally binding contract comes into existence once you have paid your deposit.

Cancellations to in-class courses by us

In exceptional circumstances we may need to cancel or change the start date of a course. This could be due to bad weather conditions, tutor illness or insufficient numbers for course viability. In these circumstances, we will offer you a place on the next available course and hopefully, be able to re-schedule your start date fairly promptly.

If your in-class learning cannot go ahead, such as when we were faced with the COVID-19 pandemic, rest assured that we can and will support you by delivering your course online with tutorials over video call, such as zoom or Microsoft Teams. We will not leave anyone in a position where they cannot complete their training.

Course fees are non-refundable and Natural Therapeutics reserves the right to amend or change training dates.

Pre-requisites

Some of our diploma courses require a core qualification in Anatomy, Physiology and Pathology first. We do offer this qualification if you need it. However, if you have enrolled onto a course where this is a  pre-requisite and fail to provide a copy of your certificate in advance, you risk losing your place on the course and we have the right to refusal.

We are able to APCL some qualifications. This means accreditation for prior certificated learning. For example, for the aromatherapy, massage and essential oil diplomas, if you already hold a recognised certificate in anatomy, physiology and pathology, you will not have to repeat that part of the course again. Please contact us for advice, sending in your certificate for review.

All of our post-graduate courses require you to have the core qualification first relating to that field of study or in one complementary therapy. This information is laid out clearly on each course information page. For example, we require that you hold a recognised qualification in aromatherapy or essential oil therapy if you want to undertake the advanced essential oil chemistry CPD course. Again, please contact us for advice and we can check your existing qualification. Please note that we cannot accept qualifications in any bodywork therapy that has been completed only online as pre-requisites.

Insurance

It is the student's responsibility to check with their insurers that cover will be given for their pending qualification. Natural Therapeutics takes no responsibility in regard to student insurance cover.

As we are accredited by Complementary Health Professionals (CHP), all of our students will be offered free CHP student membership. Students have the option then to purchase their own student membership through the insurance scheme offered by the association, which is highly recommended. Once qualified, full insurance can then be obtained to practice through the CHP scheme but Natural Therapeutics has no responsibility to check that individual students are insured.

Certificates

Certificates will be issued by Complementary Health Professionals (CHP) upon successful completion of any course that offers certification. This will be undertaken following completion of all coursework set for that course and any and all examinations, both practical and theoretical, where applicable. The certificates are issued electronically.

We do not offer certificates for introductory courses unless you pay the extra fee to complete coursework that will be assessed for you as CPD. All post-graduates course certificates will similarly be issued electronically on completion of all coursework/case studies and internal verification.

Included in the courses

The cost of all courses includes tuition fees, access to our online learning platform (Moodle), coursework assessment, and marking for which we offer lots of developmental feedback. You will be able to contact your tutor via email or video call and by phone for additional support without any additional charge. For some courses there are additional optional workshops or events you can participate in to support your learning and these do incur additional fees, as explained on the website. For example, for anatomy and pathology we offer in-class training workshops as we do in essential oil blending for the Essential Oil Practitioners Diploma, as well as an Aromatic Tour at Kew Gardens annually.

For the online diplomas, there is an additional exam fee at the end of your studies as laid out in the course fee information on each relevant page of this website.

For all in-class workshops, we provide refreshments free of charge and we will provide you with handouts and relevant equipment (such as treatment couches, essential oils, carrier oils etc.). We do ask that you bring your own towels and couch covers for hygiene purposes.

We do not provide lunch, but as we are in the town centre of Thetford, there are plenty of places to buy sustenance. If you wish to bring a packed lunch, you can eat this in the large garden at the back of Kings House, which has many benches (providing the weather is nice!).

Course times for in-class training

Our in-class sessions run from 10.00am to 5.00pm unless stated otherwise. Please advise 15-30 minutes before the scheduled commencement time to give yourself time to prepare for the day and have some refreshments with your classmates. If you do not turn up for a class on the day, no refunds are given. Latecomers will be permitted to join the class as long as it does not disrupt the rest of the learners and that is at the tutors discretion. If you know you will be late, please contact the tutor before the course start time to advise because the tutor is not able to take calls or check for texts once the class has started.

Intellectual Property

All Intellectual Property Rights in the Course Materials, Online Courses, videos and speeches made by our tutors remain the intellectual property of Natural Therapeutics, whether adapted, written for individual clients or not. You are not authorised to copy, modify, reproduce, re-publish, sub-licence, sell, upload, broadcast, post, transmit or distribute any of the Course Materials in any format without prior written permission from us. As part of your course fees, you are given access to online course materials and we grant you a limited, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use the Course Materials and the software for the sole purpose of completing your course.

Health & safety

By agreeing to these terms and conditions on the enrolment form, you are confirming that you are in good health and have no contraindications that could prevent you from completing your training. You will be asked to sign a health disclaimer on the first day of your course. Natural Therapeutics reserve the right to refuse training if we feel your health will be put at risk.

Data Protection

The nature of our services provided by us means that we will obtain and use certain data from you in order to enrol you onto any of our courses. Upon enrolment, you will need to provide your name and contact details (phone number and email address) and your contact address (as we may need to post you some materials). Your email address, demographic location and name will be added to our online learning platform so that you can access course materials but no other learner will see your contact details. Although we set your username on the online learning platform, we do not have access to your personal password, which you set on your first login. We can reset the password to the default at any time should you need us to.

We do not share your information with any third parties, except that your name will be submitted to the accrediting body for external verification and release of certificates, where appropriate to the course being undertaken. If you decide to take up the offer of free CHP student membership, this is done directly by you using the form we supply. We do not take any responsibility for it.

Natural Therapeutics endeavour to take all reasonable steps to protect your personal data but cannot guarantee the security of the data you disclose. You accept the inherent security implications of being and transacting on-line over the internet and will not hold us responsible for any breach in security.

If you wish to change or update the information we hold about you, please email us.

Behaviour

Natural Therapeutics reserves the right to refuse training to anyone who exhibits aggressive or any unprofessional behaviour towards the tutor or to fellow learners. In these very rare instances, the student in question will be asked to leave the course and no fees will be refundable.

Law & Jurisdication

These terms and conditions are subject to English Law and the parties submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts in connection with any dispute hereunder.
